Job Description:
Data Scientist/Engineer (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. -
San Francisco, California): Design and build analytics
methodologies, solutions, and products to deliver value to BCG's clients in collaboration with case teams. Specific duties include: analyze
client and user needs in order to build and execute solid analytics
work plans; conduct intensive analysis of objective data and open
discussion; gather and organize large and complex data sets; perform relevant
analyses including data exploration and statistical modeling;
communicate hypotheses and findings in a structured way; deliver impactful
solutions and present work with insightful visualizations; build automated
and robust data pipelines; own analytical modules including both
work planning and execution; provide perspective on work execution
and process efficiency to analytics project lead; stay current on
leading- edge business applications, tools and approaches; develop
client relationships with client counterparts; and work with the
Analytics Leadership to enhance offerings that deliver competitive
advantage to BCG. Requires a Master’s degree in computer science,
engineering, applied mathematics, statistics or a related quantitative field
(willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus one (1) year of
experience performing advanced data analytics and data management in a
business setting. Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative
experience requirements not applicable to this section - skills may be
gained through professional experience or academic program) - must
possess the following: (i) Machine learning and predictive modeling
including regression, classification, clustering and time series analysis;
(ii) Design of experiment and A/B testing; (iii) Simulation,
optimization and operations research; (iv) Programming in Python and R to build
analytics applications; (v) Data management tools including SQL, Hive,
Hadoop, and Spark; and (vi) visualization tools including Tableau, GIS, and
R/Python visualization libraries. Domestic/international travel required
(at least 40%) based on company/client need. Must have
unrestricted authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 45+
