Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael, California, serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. This position reports to the Manager of Rehab Services. Oversees the development, implementation, evaluation, continuous improvement, and ongoing sustainability of the facility's safe patient handling and mobility program. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, continuous improvement, coordinating services and activities associated with the facility's safe patient handling program. This position is responsible for maintaining quality standards for responsive service and professional documentation, maintaining current and accurate policies, procedures and practices, all in a manner which is consistent with the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health. Position Scope: T In addition, the position is involved in multiple interdepartmental activities and ensures the timely exchange of information. In the course of usual and customary activity the incumbent will establish and monitor performance criteria, assure compliance with safe patient handling regulatory requirements, establish effective performance plans, staff education and direction and resolve complex issues. Major Challenges: Coordinating and monitoring assigned research activities related to Safe Patient Handling. Support for the development and implementation of new services and programs within and outside the community relating to the Safe Patient Handling. This position is challenging in that it requires sophisticated and future-oriented thinking, planning, and development in order to support effective hospital services in a manner that is consistent with the objectives of CommonSpirit's mission and values. Freedom to Act: This position has the accountability to evaluate and make appropriate recommendations for new program development; development and implementation of policies and procedures; and development and maintenance of quality improvement activities. Experience:2 years direct patient care experience within the last 5 years.1 year project management experience.1 year experience in providing education and training within the last 5 years.Training experienceis preferred.Education:Bachelor's DegreeLicensed California RN, PT, or OTSafe Patient Handling and Mobility certification required or be obtained within 3 yearsLicensure:Current California RN, PT, or OT LicenseBLS
