quantitative support, market understanding and a strategic
perspective to our partners throughout the organization. As a
data-loving member of the team, you serve as an analytics expert
for your partners, using numbers to help them make better
decisions. You will weave stories with meaningful insight from
data. You'll make critical recommendations for your fellow Googlers
in Engineering and Product Management. You relish tallying up the
numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a team leader
the next. We are the Merchant Data Science team, a global team with
members in US, London, and Zurich, acting as key data science
partners to the Merchant Shopping Organization. Our data scientists
collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to manage specific
issues and drive data-informed decisions. The Merchant Shopping
Organization aims to make Google the best place for merchants to
connect with shoppers. Central to this mission is the development
of an exceptional Shopping Graph. In this role, you will be a key
data science partner to our product and engineering teams. You will
be instrumental in shaping the future of our Shopping Graph by
quantifying the impact of its components (such as merchants,
brands, images, and videos) on consumer shopping experiences across
Google. You will be a technical data scientist and a compelling
communicator, capable of operating and influencing product and
engineering roadmaps through data-driven insights. The US base
salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$278,000 bonus
equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level,
and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by
work location and additional factors, including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can

more about benefits at Google . Responsibilities Serve as a
Technical Lead, mentoring junior data scientists in defining
high-value problem statements and ensuring project outcomes deliver
measurable business impact. Act as a consultant and thought partner
to Engineering and Product Management leads, providing data-driven
perspectives on product direction and opportunities. Define, solve,
and analyze key metrics and attribution mechanisms to guide product
development. Conduct analyses to identify the most significant
opportunities for improving the Shopping Graph. Design and
implement analysis (evals, log analysis etc.) to measure the impact
of Shopping Graph data on key shopping experiences (especially
AI-powered experiences like AIM and Gemini). Communicate findings
and recommendations clearly and effectively to technical and
non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
