Job Description:
Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company
that has shaped the internet for the better over the last 25 years.
We make pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web
browser. Now, with more than 225 million people around the world
using our products each month, we’re shaping the next 25 years of
technology and helping to reclaim an internet built for people, not
companies. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social
media, security and more. And we’re doing this while never losing
our focus on our core mission – to make the internet better for
people. The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit
501(c) Mozilla Foundation. This means we aren’t beholden to any
shareholders — only to our mission. Along with thousands of
volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world,
Mozillians design, build and distribute open-source software that
enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms. About this
team and role: The role is part of the IT Function within the
broader Mozilla Infrastructure team. The IT team supports ERP
Services, Workplace services, Service-Desk and On-Prem DC Services
across the organization aligned with the mission to build a safe &
secure internet. As a Software (Application) Engineer in the newly
formed Workplace technology team, you’ll help design, build, and
maintain the systems and automations that power Mozilla’s workplace
technologies — from collaboration and AI productivity tools to
identity and access workflows. You’ll manage day-to-day
administration, develop scripts and integrations, and contribute to
projects that improve reliability, security, and user experience.
This role is hands-on and growth-oriented, offering opportunities
to deepen your technical expertise while shaping how Mozillians
work and collaborate. Note: You don’t need to meet every listed
qualification to be considered — we value diverse experiences and
learning potential. What you’ll do: • Design, build, and maintain
scripts, APIs, and workflow automations that power key workplace
systems — collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom,
Atlassian) and identity platforms (Okta). • Develop lightweight
services or integrations that connect collaboration, GenAI-tools
(OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) and internal systems, enabling agentic
flows (e.g., virtual assistants, workflow agents) that reduce
manual work and improve user experience. • Implement monitoring,
logging and observability for automation and AI workflows;
troubleshoot issues and uncover opportunities for reliability,
scalability, and cost-efficiency. • Contribute to the evolution of
secure onboarding, off-boarding, and mover workflows across access,
permissions and SaaS tools — with automation and safe agentic
handoffs where appropriate. • Collaborate with IT, Security, and
People teams to ensure identity, data, and compliance standards
(SSO, DLP, classification) are deeply embedded through automation
and script-driven guardrails. • Participate in pilot projects for
new AI and productivity capabilities: integrate LLMs & agents,
track usage/adoption metrics, build flows that assist users (e.g.,
knowledge-agent, document summarizer). • Contribute to the
code-review process, documentation of shared libraries for
workflows/agents, and build a library of integration templates for
reuse across the team. • Partner with senior engineers to modernize
workplace systems through scalable architecture, API-first design,
and intelligent agentic workflows. What youll bring: • 4–6 years of
experience in software engineering, systems integration or
workplace technology development, with a focus on automation or
scripting. • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting
languages (Java, Go, Python, JavaScript/Apps Script, Bash,
PowerShell) and comfortable with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and
integration frameworks. • Familiarity with SaaS platforms (Google
Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian) and interest in agentic/AI
workflows (LLMs, agents, prompt pipelines). • Understanding of
IAM/SSO (Okta, SAML/OIDC/SCIM) or a willingness to grow in this
area; experience automating provisioning/access is a plus. •
Experience or curiosity about CI/CD, workflow orchestration, and
building self-service delivery models that leverage agents or
automation. • Strong troubleshooting, documentation and
cross-functional communication skills; comfortable collaborating
with non-technical partners and translating automation into
tangible operational gains. • A growth mindset: you embrace
learning new AI technologies, care about user experience, and seek
to improve systems through intelligent workflows. • Interest in
building agentic flows (for example: bots that triage tickets,
summarize documents, assist user tasks) and integrating them
responsibly into workplace systems. What you’ll get: • Generous
performance-based bonus plans to all eligible employees - we share
in our success as one team • Rich medical, dental, and vision
coverage • Generous retirement contributions with 100% immediate
vesting (regardless of whether you contribute) • Quarterly
all-company wellness days where everyone takes a pause together •
Country specific holidays plus a day off for your birthday •
One-time home office stipend • Annual professional development
budget • Quarterly well-being stipend • Considerable paid parental
leave • Employee referral bonus program • Other benefits
(life/AD&D, disability, EAP, etc. - varies by country)
