Advanced Fetal Monitoring (preferred) Must-Have: Candidates must be
able to assist in deliveries and have experience in Labor and
Delivery. Description: The position is in a Family Birthing Center
focusing on Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby care. Registered
Nurses will be responsible for all aspects of delivery and will
provide care to both the mother and baby. Expectations include the
ability to assist in deliveries and circulate in the operating room
for C-sections. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2 for Labor and
Delivery and 1:1 during delivery. Couplet care for Mother/Baby is
typically 1:4. All staff members will participate in rotating
holiday schedules. Registered Nurses may be required to float to
other departments as needed. A basic understanding of Cerner EMR is
necessary. Nurses should be familiar with reading and interpreting
EKG strips. The working environment requires excellent
communication with the healthcare team, including physicians and
nursing aides. The unit serves a variety of patient populations,
including term and preterm infants, as well as some high-risk
cases. Patient care will focus on supporting breastfeeding and
promoting a baby-friendly environment. Self-scheduling is
encouraged, allowing flexibility in work hours, though it is
subject to management approval. This position requires a quick
response time if placed on call, as well as adaptability to float
to various facilities as needed. Completion of a floor-specific
orientation and proactive teamwork is expected to ensure
