Description: Shift Requirements: 4x10s from 13:00 to 23:30 Every
other weekend is required. On-call as needed is required. The staff
nurse is responsible and accountable for the overall management of
nursing care provided. Assure competent, compassionate, and
cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge. Ensure the
safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients, and
perform disease prevention and restorative measures. Respond to
medical and environmental emergencies. Provides competent,
compassionate, and cost-effective patient care in accordance with
policies and standards of care. Plan and coordinate delivery of
care to maximize efficient patient care delivery. Set priorities
for and provide patient care in both routine and complex
situations. Serve as a liaison between nursing and medical staff to
facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care. Coordinate
involvement of the patient, physician, family, and other health
team members to manage patient care. Set priorities, initiate, and
direct emergency interventions in a calm, efficient, and competent
manner. Exercise clinical judgment and critical thinking in all
aspects of nursing practice. Administer treatments, medications,
and perform nursing skills in a timely manner. Maintain current
knowledge of patient care status and monitor patients' perceptions
of care through clinical rounds. Ensure physicians are informed of
significant changes in patients' conditions. Analyze and document
patient acuity levels accurately and in a timely manner.
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to effectively interact with the
patient population served. Conduct initial and ongoing assessments
of the patient and their family. Complete nursing assessments
within 24 hours of admission. Ensure the nursing process is
goal-directed to meet all patient needs including assessments, care
plans, education, and discharge planning. Observe patients'
physical conditions and behaviors and ensure acuity levels are
identified and documented. Identify and monitor patients at risk
for untoward events and implement precautions. Evaluate and
reevaluate the effectiveness of plans of care through observation
and communication. Modify plans as appropriate in collaboration
with patients, families, and physicians. Develop the patient's plan
of care considering biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, and
educational needs. Implement timely interventions based on
observations, interviews, and consultations with health team
members. Document and communicate patient assessments, plans of
care, outcomes, and other pertinent information. Evaluate the
effectiveness of plans in collaboration with patients, families,
and physicians. Modify plans as appropriate and communicate any
