  • A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced MedSurg/Tele RN for a travel contract on the Surgical Acute unit.
  • The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.
    • Job Requirements
    • 2 years of experience in MedSurg/Tele
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hr shifts.
      • Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside.
      • OT and extra shifts are available.
      • Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
      • Schedules are out 4 weeks.
      • Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
      • Block scheduling is generally not available.
      • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
      • Holidays: Rotate in with core staff.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • # beds: 30
        • Ratios: 1:4-5. If patients on tele then 1:4.
        • EMR: Cerner
        • Scrubs Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
        • Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
        • Vents: No
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist
        • IV Team: No
        • Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
        • Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with a preceptor.
        • Shift: 12hr Days, EOW, First to Float
          • Additional Details
          • DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH RELIAS IS REQUIRED TO BE SENT ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE.
          • Modules are required to be done before start of assignment.
          • Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital.
          • PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH RELIAS IS REQUIRED TO BE SENT ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE.
