OverviewDignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a
370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael
California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south
Placer County for more than 50 years. It is one of the areas

Replacement.ResponsibilitiesMercy San Juan Medical Center has
partnered with the County of Sacramento to establish a behavioral
health crisis stabilization unit (Crisis Stabilization Unit/CSU)
that will address challenges impacting the emergency departments
and make a marked difference in quality of care for patients. -It
marks a first for the region and raises the standard for existing
crisis services across the state. - The unit will advance existing
crisis services to the next level in several distinctive ways
-Services provided include:
- Behavioral health assessment.
- Psychiatric assessment.
- Medication evaluation and management.
- Crisis stabilization including individualized recovery oriented
interventions directed towards resolution of the presenting mental
health crisis.
- Evaluation for voluntary or involuntary detention.
- Admissions evaluation for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization
if necessary.
- Peer mentor therapy. -The Emergency Department and Crisis
Stabilization Unit collaborate to provide emergency psychiatric
assessment and mental health services lasting less than 24 hours
psychiatric. - The collaborative approach ensures the whole patient
is being treated by being medically screened and stabilized in the
Emergency Department and then upon transfer receiving psychiatric
care in the Crisis Stabilization Unit. - The approach is considered
a best practice model of integrated emergency medical and emergency
mental health care which enables Mercy San Juan to focus on
patient-centered care as the priority. The collaborative approach
is based on a foundation of shared accountability resources and
expertise through true collaboration engaging diverse public
private and community stakeholders who share the same values and
common purpose. The unity embraces whole person care and places
mental illness on a level playing field with physical illness
reducing stigma and treating individuals equally and with respect.
- -The incumbent provides and supervises care to individuals and
families. Utilizing a holistic approach the Registered Nurse
provides a safe and confidential environment throughout the
delivery of care. As a professional the Registered Nurse is
responsible for providing team leadership and maintaining

intended to break the unit nurses for lunches & breaks during the
hours of 0900-1730 -Minimum:
- Current CA RN licensure and BLS certificate from the American
Heart Association -
- 2 years acute Mental Health RN experience
- Maintaining current competencies and certifications required by
department
