Sutter Roseville has 405 licensed beds, a full array of services and programs designed to serve the growing community, and a level II American College of Surgeons-verified Trauma Center serving a seven-county region. In Roseville, we provide integrated healthcare services through the growing Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Sutter Medical Foundation and Sutter Rehabilitation Institute. - Specialized services included Sutter Cancer Center, Roseville, the Family Birth Center, and the Trauma Center. -Our tradition of providing leading medical care to the growing community continues today. since opening Sutter Roseville in 1997 we have made significant additions to the medical center that include the Breast Health Center and Bariatric (Weight Loss) Surgery, new technology, state of the art equipment, and top of the line health care services to Roseville and the surrounding area.Under general professional and administrative guidance, functions independently as an advanced nursing professional in oncology across the health care continuum in all patient settings. - Assesses the patient to identify oncology care needs; creates and modifies a plan of care; makes appropriate referrals; provides patient and family education; monitors patient status; and evaluates the effectiveness of the established care plan. - Serves as a resource for outpatient oncology and works collaboratively to develop and implement cancer services program in a variety of settings.Qualifications:Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Master of Science or Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN -
  • Nurse Practitioner - NP
  • Provide documentation of a "furnishing number" if "furnishing" drugs according to a standardized procedure and formulary.
  • Meet the State of California requirements to obtain a DEA number within 6 months of hire.
  • Provide documentation of a minimum of 30 hours every two years of continuing education, at least 50% related to medical oncology.
  • Certified Oncology RN - CN-ONCLGY. - Chemotherapy certification preferred. - Maintain national certification for duration of employment.
  • Required to have national certification 1 year of hire in clinically applicable area (advanced practice oncology, geriatrics, or hospice and palliative care management). Must maintain national certification for duration of employment.
  • Basic Life Support Certification - BLSExperience:
    • Minimum of two years prior experience in hospital acute care nursing providing direct patient care to oncology patients.
    • Previous experience working as a Nurse Practitioner with internal medicine, Family practice, and/or oncology patients in an outpatient setting preferred.
    • Prior experience in an adult outpatient setting required.
    • Program coordination or team leading experience is desirable.
    • Experience working with an oncology multidisciplinary team preferred. -Knowledge:
      • Must have knowledge of adult education and teaching principles.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of adult oncology required.
      • Knowledge of how adults respond to oncology treatment modalities, i.e. surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.
      • Knowledge of community based resources required.
      • Program development, implementation and evaluation knowledge is preferred.
      • Must possess excellent communication skills and proficiency in managing conflict under stressful conditions.
      • Must have physical assessment skills to evaluate and assess the adult oncology patient.
      • Must possess excellent organizational skills and have the ability to be self-directed and able to act independently demonstrating sound judgment.
